NORFOLK, Va. — 'City Voices' concert in Norfolk on Sunday features performers who are homeless or economically distressed.
The concert was held at the Freemason Street Baptist Church. The Norfolk Street Choir, established in 2016 as a program of Freemason Street Baptist Church. The program provides community and an opportunity for Norfolk’s impoverished population to participate in a universally uplifting, encouraging endeavor: group singing.
The NSC meets once a week, with members actively participating in rehearsals that include vocal and musical instruction as well as ensemble rehearsals of songs.

The Norfolk Street Choir offers a unique opportunity where singers can “have a voice.” Participants encourage and inspire one another and their listeners through music.
During the concert on Sunday, songs like You've Got a Friend, Lean on Me, and Put a Little Love in Your Heart were performed. The event was free and open to the public to enjoy.
There were even volunteer instrumental guests to make it a full ensemble.
