NORFOLK, Va. — A man has been arrested after a barricade situation ended in the Northside area of Norfolk on Monday morning.
The Norfolk Police Department said a call came in around 10:20 p.m. Sunday about a situation in the 8800 block of Semmes Avenue. It shut down the neighborhood and blocked off several streets, including Granby Street, for several hours.
Around 5 a.m. Wednesday, Norfolk police said the situation had been resolved peacefully and a man had been taken into custody.
According to police, Chad Harrison, 43, was charged with brandishing a firearm, assaulting a family member, preventing another from summoning law enforcement and shooting in an occupied dwelling.
He is currently being held in Norfolk City Jail without bond.
