NORFOLK, Va. — One person is injured and many are displaced from their homes after an apartment fire in Norfolk.
The Norfolk Fire-Rescue says that a fire was reported at the 1900 block of Greenleaf Drive, off of Campostella Road just before 1 a.m. Friday.
When crews arrived they found smoke and flames coming from one unit of an apartment complex. The flames were quickly spreading.
Crews attacked the fire, but it managed to spread and caused damage to 3 apartments.
The fire was marked under control around 1:45 a.m.
One person was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
4 adults and 8 children have been displaced. The Red Cross is assisting them.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
