ADP opens new facility in downtown Norfolk

NORFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- A grand opening ceremony is taking place Friday in downtown Norfolk for a new ADP facility.

NORFOLK, Va. (WVEC) -- A grand opening ceremony was held Friday for a new ADP facility in downtown Norfolk.

The 288,000-square-foot service and implementation facility is expected to bring about 1,800 jobs to the area, making Norfolk one of ADP's largest locations in the United States. The building includes a company cafeteria, a variety of associate amenities and a tech bar for support with hardware and software issues.

The facility will be initially staffed with more than 300 associates who will work with clients on cloud-based payroll, HR and human capital management solutions.

Governor Terry McAuliffe announced that the company would be opening an office in Norfolk back in March.

McAuliffe, along with Virginia Secretary of Commerce and Trade Todd Haymore, Norfolk Mayor Kenneth Cooper Alexander, ADP CEO Carlos Rodriguez and other officials gathered Friday morning for a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the facility located at 2 Commercial Place in downtown Norfolk.

"I'm delighted to welcome our Norfolk associates as the newest members of a global team dedicated to helping clients manage their workforces with the best payroll, HR and human capital management solutions available today," said Rodriguez.
