3 injured in shooting Norfolk's Crown Point neighborhood, police say

Two men were found shot at the 7-Eleven on Raby Road, according to Norfolk police. One man was found with gunshot wounds blocks away on Coach Way Drive.

NORFOLK, Va. — Three men are recovering from their injuries, after someone shot them late Thursday night in Norfolk.

The shooting involved two crime scenes in the Crown Point area, not far from Military Circle, according to police.

Investigators are still trying to figure out what led to the violence. They said the late-night incident sent three men to the hospital. All of them should survive.

On the heels of the shooting, some neighbors told 13News Now they are feeling on edge.

“I wouldn’t feel safe walking up to the 7-Eleven like I used to," one woman said.

Just before 11 p.m. on Thursday, officers said they initially found two people with gunshot wounds. They laid down a slew of evidence markers on the parking lot of the store.

While at that scene, Norfolk police said a call for help alerted them to another victim several blocks away near the townhomes on Coach Way Drive.

“Well, I’m hoping that they’re okay and that it wasn’t anything serious," said another neighbor.

Police said all three men hurt should survive and recover.

Several neighbors said they have seen violence rise to another level lately. Some are taking extra precautions.

“We’re just putting cameras all around," the second neighbor 13News Now spoke with said.

In September, back-to-back deadly shootings across Norfolk brought a group of activists together just across from the Raby Road 7-Eleven to call for an end to the violence.

More than two months ago, Norfolk police said a man fatally shot 14-year-old Amir Burnett, also in Crown Point.

In that case, court records said the suspect told detectives he was putting his gun away after showing it to a group of teens, when a round went off and struck Amir.

As for the Raby Road shooting, police have not yet released information about a suspect or suspects.
