NORFOLK, Va. — One of Hampton Roads' favorite holiday traditions has returned to the Norfolk Botanical Garden for the 29th year.
Visitors can walk through the one-mile-long route adorned with more than 1.5 million lights illuminating Dominion Energy Garden of Lights, Walk the Garden Aglow. The award-winning lights begin at 5 p.m. each day and run through January 5.
"It’s a magical experience like no other in Coastal Virginia with more lights and more surprises," the event's website reads.
Duck Donuts and Bear House Coffee Roasters were selected as vendors for this year's event, with organizers "promising a delectable array of treats to keep you fueled as you stroll through the mesmerizing lights."
Last year's event drew in more than 100,000 guests, according to organizers. That high demand prompted the event to add more Value Nights when attendees can secure less expensive tickets than those offered on Premium Nights.
Tickets can be purchased on the Norfolk Botanical Garden's website. Walk-up tickets are also available but incur an additional $5 fee per ticket.
This is the largest fundraising event of the year for the botanical gardens.
