NORFOLK, Va. — Two people and one pet have been displaced after a fire Thursday, Norfolk Fire-Rescue (NFR) said.
Crews responded to a house fire at the 700 block of Denison Avenue around 11:58 a.m. When firefighters arrived, they found smoke coming from the house.
Firefighters went into the house with a hose line and found a fire in the kitchen. They extinguished the fire before it could spread. The fire was under control at 12:10 p.m.
According to officials, no one was injured. However, two people and one pet have been displaced due to the fire. The Red Cross has been called to assist.
NFR said the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
