NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WVEC) -- Thomas Douglas Brabham, an inmate who escaped from Riverside Regional Medical Center, has been captured in Ohio.
Brabham was arrested by Newport News police on March 25 for burglary and grand larceny charges and was held in the Newport News City Jail.
He was transported to the hospital for medical attention on March 28 to undergo physical therapy.
Brabham has been on the run since he escaped from the medical center on April 5.
Newport News Sheriff Gabe Morgan told 13News Now that investigators have learned that a deputy failed to follow proper security protocols, contributing to Brabham's escape.
