NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — Newport News will be hosting its All-America City Celebration on Saturday.
The City is celebrating being named an All-America City by the National Civic League at City Center at Oyster Point starting at 4 p.m.
There will be a parade, a drone show, live music, a DJ, food trucks and activities for all ages.
The 75th annual All-America City Award theme was “Strengthening Democracy through Local Action and Innovation.”
Newport News was one of the 20 finalists that came to Denver, Colorado on June 7-9 and gave a presentation showing how their city is finding innovative ways to engage community members in activities that strengthen local democracy.
