NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — Newport News Police said they were on the scene of a barricade situation early Thursday morning.
The NNPD says that the officers were working a tactical operations unit callout at the Davis Mobile Home Park near Jefferson Drive because of an armed barricaded 'possibly suicidal' man.
Police said they attempted to make contact with the man but were unsuccessful.
They asked the public to avoid the area and roads around it were blocked off while police handled the situation.
The call came in around 1:40 a.m. The scene has since been cleared and traffic is moving smoothly. Police say the tactical operation was ended at 5:50 a.m.
