NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — A Newport News woman and her husband, who is serving active-duty in the Navy, will be featured in HGTV's House Hunters on Tuesday!
Elyssa Lassiter and her husband, Haneef Abdur-Razzaaq, searched for the perfect home on the Peninsula that fit their very specific "self-imposed" rules.
The episode, which was filmed in the Summer of 2018, will air at 10 p.m., and again on February 6 at 1 a.m.
"Filming the show was such a fun experience," Elyssa told 13News Now. "This is our first time buying a home, so to be honest, we didn't quite know what to expect out of the entire home buying process."
Lassiter, who is a former 13News Now producer, said this episode is very special to them because her mother was featured in the episode. The couple cared for her mother in their home for nine months, until she passed away in January.
"It's going to be so great to see her smile on her episode tonight--that is the most special thing about this premiere," Elyssa said.
The couple's two dogs, Happy and Serendipity, will also make an appearance.
Elyssa said that for the longest time she would tell people that she needed to look for a home, so she needed to apply to House Hunters!
The couple will be hosting a watch party at the Buffalo Wild Wings on Jefferson Avenue in Newport News starting at 9 p.m.
