NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WVEC) -- A grand jury indicted former NFL player Marcus Vick on a drug charge Monday.
The charge, itself, dates back to October 8, 2016 when Vick was accused of having Ecstasy.
The case has no connection to the charges of Assault and Battery of a Law Enforcement Officer and Obstruction of Justice which police brought against Vick a year ago. Those charges were nolle prossed, and Vick entered a guilty plea to Resisting Arrest.
The drug possession charge against Vick is a felony.
Vick, 32, is a former quarterback at Virginia Tech and the brother of NFL football player Michael Vick.
