NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — A man died after a shooting Friday night, the Newport News Police Department said.
Newport News police responded to an alert from gunshot detection technology in the 3700 block of Marshall Avenue. When officers arrived, they found a 24-yea-old Mahleik Barber suffering from a gunshot wound. Barber was transported to the hospital where he later died.
No suspect has been named.
NNPD is currently investigating this incident.
