Man arrested in connection to homicide investigation of missing Newport News man

35-year-old Azbel Saralegi is charged with first-degree murder in connection to the death of Tyreek Vincent, a man who was reported missing in September.

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — A man has been arrested in connection with the homicide investigation of Tyreek Vincent, police shared Wednesday afternoon.

35-year-old Azbel Saralegi has been charged with first-degree murder in connection to the death of Mr. Vincent. Saralegi also faces multiple firearms offenses.

A missing endangered persons investigation was launched for 22-year-old Tyreek Vincent in late September, after Newport News police say he was last seen in the city on September 20.

Wednesday, October 9, officers were called to the area of Dafia Drive in Hampton to follow up on a tip that led to the discovery of Mr. Vincent's remains. That discovery led to the missing person's case then being investigated as a homicide.
