NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — Officers with the Newport News Police Department (NNPD) are on campus at Menchville High School following threats being made Tuesday afternoon.
Menchville High Principal Jason Hollar sent an email to families informing them of the threat, and letting them know that the situation is under investigation. The statement shares that NNPD officers and NNPS security are present on school grounds.
Hollar asks that anyone who hears anything relating to the possible incident report it to the administrative team.
13News Now has reached out to NNPD for further details and is waiting for their response.
This is the latest in a series of threats at schools and universities across the region. It comes just one day after bomb threats were made at Paul D. Camp Community College campuses in Franklin and Suffolk.
