Congressman Bobby Scott delivered new funding to the Peninsula Agency on Aging

Nearly $300,000 will be used to support the Home Delivered Meals program and safety check-ins with older adults.

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — Congressman Bobby Scott delivered new funds to the Peninsula Agency on Aging on Thursday.

Nearly $300,000 will be used to support the Home Delivered Meals program and safety check-ins with older adults.

The funds will also pay for two new vans for those programs along with more modern methods to keep meals fresh for everyone enrolled.

Congressman Bobby Scott said he hopes the improvements will make things easier for the older population and increase the quality of life across the Peninsula.

The Peninsula Agency on Aging's mission is to support the independence and quality of life of Peninsula residents primarily 60 years and over by advocating, arranging or providing vital human services.
