NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — On Monday, city inspectors went back out to the Aqua Vista apartment complex to see if on-site management finished fixing hundred of issues.
Newport News Codes Compliance staff gave management until Monday to address more than 300 violations at the apartment complex.
Nearly every unit had some sort of maintenance issue.
Inspectors were at the property doing re-inspections.
Staff found 312 violations in 145 of the 150 units in late January.
Management had until Monday to address the issues that range from exposed wires to leaking toilets and holes in the wall.
TM Associates, the management agent for Aqua Vista sent 13News Now a joint statement last month:
As the management agent for Aqua Vista Apartments, TM Associates remains committed to providing the best housing option for our valued residents. Both ownership and management have worked together to devise an action plan that will address all deficiencies within the affected apartment homes expeditiously.
A city spokesperson says it will likely take a couple of days to re-inspect all of the violations. Codes compliance staff will share the results once they are done.
