NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — Newport News police were looking for the person who shot and killed a dentist outside his practice Wednesday afternoon.
Emergency dispatchers received a call about the shooting at Huber Road and Jefferson Avenue at 5:15 p.m. When officers got there, they found William Trolenberg, 65, outside of his vehicle in the parking lot of Deer Park Dental.
Medics took Trolenberg to the hospital where he died.
Police said a white man with dark hair wearing a black shirt and tan pants is a possible suspect. Witnesses told officers he had mud on his pants.
Police released photos of "a person of interest."
