HAMPTON, Va. — A triple shooting sent three people to the hospital in Hampton on Tuesday night.
According to the Hampton Police Division, the shooting happened at an Exxon gas station in the 1000 block of West Mercury Boulevard around 6:47 p.m. Officers arrived to find two men and a woman suffering from gunshot wounds.
All three were taken to the hospital. Police say two of the victims' injuries were non-life threatening, while the third victim's injuries were more serious. All three victims are in stable condition as of 4 p.m. Wednesday.
A car with at least three bullet holes in it was seen near one of the gas pumps and appeared to have collided with another car.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation. Police said they are currently searching for any possible suspect or suspects.
HPD posted pictures on social media of two individuals and a car and asked for the public's assistance in identifying and locating the individuals and vehicles involved in the maiming incident. The police did not specify if the two individuals were suspects or not.
"The situation is fluid," said Hampton SPO Josh Dye. "Our investigators will look at any surveillance footage, they will check with any witnesses or speak to any individuals that were involved that they can locate, and they'll work diligently to find whoever's responsible for this."
