Peninsula SPCA hosting fundraiser in honor of Betty White and 2024 'Fur Ball'

The Peninsula SPCA needs funds to replace the roof of their building which is essential health and safety of their animals. You can donate in two different ways.

HAMPTON, Va. — The Peninsula Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) is launching a fundraiser to support their project to help maintain their building. They're also hosting a fun event this March to raise money.

The SPCA, an adoption guarantee "no-kill" shelter, is hosting the first of what they hope will become their annual fundraiser, honoring the late Betty White and her love for animals. They say they need funds to replace a large portion of their roof, the fundraiser spanning from January 2-17 is aptly named "Raise the Woof!"

The SPCA says the section of the roof that needs replacement spans from the cat room down to the lobby and is important to the health and safety of their animals. The estimated cost of the project is $75,000.

During the fundraiser, all donations will be matched up to $20,000. Meaning your donation is doubled at no cost to you. You can visit their site to donate and find more information.

Along with the fundraiser, they are also hosting the 2024 Fur Ball at the Hampton Roads Convention Center on March 9th.

The event features delicious food, tasty drinks, a pet parade, live music, and live and silent auctions all to benefit the animals. Pet guests are welcome to enjoy the "Muttini Bar."

You can find where to purchase tickets, find information, read their menus and get overnight accommodations on their website.
