One year since the disappearance of Keir and Chloe Johnson

Keir Johnson and her 8-month-old baby Chloe vanished in Hampton on April 30, 2017. Keir had plans to take her daughter to Buckroe Beach that day.

HAMPTON, Va. (WVEC) -- Monday marks one year since Keir and Chloe Johnson disappeared.

The mom and her eight-month-old baby vanished in Hampton on April 30, 2017. Keir had plans to take her daughter to Buckroe Beach that day.

Detectives found her car in Newport News one week later.

The family has been desperate for answers since.

"She's my everything. Just imagine living in a world and you see trees but there are no more trees. There's no more grass. All I know is her. So, it's hard," Teir Pettaway, Johnson's twin sister, said back in December.

Police say they have been working with federal investigators on the case and that 5,000 hours of investigation have been logged.

The Newport News Police Department and Assistant Chief of Police Eric Randall released a short video Monday reminding the community they still need their help to find the mother and daughter.

"Our dedication to bring them home has not dimmed over the course of a year," Randall said. "Help us bring them home, their family deserves it, they have waited too long."

The Newport News Police Foundation is putting up a $25,000 reward in hope that someone will come forward with information. In January, Smithfield Foods added an additional $10,000 to the reward fund.

If you have any information about the whereabouts of Keir and Chloe call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
