HAMPTON, Va. — A U.S. Army veteran in Hampton received a new roof as part of a national project on Wednesday.

Reitzel Roofing & Exteriors partnered with Habitat for Humanity Peninsula and Greater Williamsburg to provide the veteran with a new roof as part of the Owens Corning Roof Deployment Project.

The Owens Corning Foundation donated roofing materials and Reitzel Roofing & Exteriors provided the labor. The Owens Corning Roof Deployment Project is a national project dedicated to "show gratitude and honor the veterans who served our country and the families who support them."

The program started in 2016 and has provided new roofs for over 600 military members, according to its organizers.
