HAMPTON, Va. — A man is injured after a drive-by shooting in Hampton Wednesday afternoon, according to the Hampton Police Division.
Now, the Hampton Police Division is asking for the public's help in finding the suspect or suspects in connection with that shooting.
Police first got the call around 3:36 p.m. Wednesday about a shooting in the 700 block of LaSalle Avenue.
When officers arrived on the scene, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. Hampton Fire and Rescue members found that the victim's injuries were not life-threatening and took him to a nearby hospital.
In a preliminary investigation, police determined the victim was walking along LaSalle Ave. when a vehicle approached him and began firing in his direction, hitting him.
Investigators are still looking into the motive and circumstances behind the incident.
