Hampton woman found safe, after being missing for almost a week

Tequilla Williams, 65, was last seen on August 2 at her home on Calvary Terrace before being found on Thursday.

HAMPTON, Va. — Police say a woman missing out of Hampton has been found safe, the Virginia State Police (VSP) said Thursday afternoon.

Tequilla Williams, 65, was last seen on Aug. 2 at her home on Calvary Terrace.  Police said she was also possibly seen on Aug. 4 walking in the area of West Weaver Road at 3 a.m. wearing a cream-colored nightgown.

Police have not provided any information about where or when exactly Williams was found.

Police had said Williams was considered endangered because she suffers from a cognitive impairment and her disappearance poses a threat to her health and safety.

She was last seen on Friday, August 2 by her family and reported missing on Sunday. Since then, police have contacted residents in the Aberdeen Gardens neighborhood.

"We are using the evidence we've collected over the last couple of days with doorbell cameras and possible sightings and moving in those directions." Cpl. Colgan Williams with Hampton Police said earlier this week.

The Virginia Department of Emergency Management and Tidewater Search and Rescue helped alongside Hampton Police to search where Williams was last seen and other possible locations. They said the inclement weather did not help search efforts.

"Rain does have an impact, especially if we're looking at an actual track on the ground and trying to determine if that fits the footwear pattern or things like that," said tracking technician Melissa Weeks with VDEM.
