Hampton police charge man in connection with homicide

HAMPTON, Va. —

Hampton Police Division arrested an 18-year-old man in connection with a homicide where one man was killed on May 12.

Kaleb Nicol, of Hampton, was arrested Wednesday and is charged with three counts of shooting into an occupied dwelling.

Police identified the victim as Cedric Bryant Carter, 22, of Hampton.

The call of a fight came in around 2:40 a.m. in the Nickerson Boulevard and Bridgeport Cove area, police said in a news release.

Officers found Carter in the road with gunshot wounds. He died at the scene.

Nicol remains in custody at the Hampton City Jail.
