HAMPTON, Va. — Police are investigating a man's death as a homicide after he was shot near an I-64 on-ramp overnight.
Officers were sent to check on a crash in the area of Hampton Roads Center Parkway near I-64 around 12:31 a.m. Tuesday. When they got there, they found a car that had crashed into a guardrail. A 21-year-old man was found dead inside the car.
At first, police didn't know how exactly he died, but after some investigation, they learned he was shot.

Authorities are still working to learn the motive behind the shooting. No suspect information has been released at this time. Police won't release the victim's name until next of kin have been notified.
