Hampton police arrest man wanted for double shooting

Donnell Anthony Hobbs, 30, is under arrest in connection with a shooting that left two women injured. 

HAMPTON, Va. (WVEC) -- Donnell Anthony Hobbs, 30, is under arrest in connection with a shooting that left two women injured.

The shooting happened around 11:45 p.m. on July 1, in the 1st block of Wythe Creek Road.

When officers arrived, they found a 55-year-old woman and a 27-year-old woman, each suffering from single gunshot wounds.

Both women were taken to a local area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

On July 3, the Hampton Police Division said they are searching for Hobbs in connection to this case.

Police say that neither victim appeared to have been the intended target in the shooting. The exact motive and circumstances in the incident is still under investigation.

Hobbs is charged with two counts of Maiming, two counts of Use of a Firearm in Commission of a felony, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon and Shooting into an Occupied Dwelling.
