HAMPTON, Va. — Officials announced on Thursday the Virginia Destroyers upcoming season at Hampton Coliseum.
The Destroyers are one of 12 arena football teams making their debut in the National Gridiron League this spring, according to a news release.
Arena Football League Hall of Fame defensive back Durwood “Rock” Roquemore leads the Destroyers team, which will compete in the league's Eastern Conference.
National Gridiron League President Joe McClendon, III, Hampton City Councilwoman Chris Snead, Councilman Billy Hobbs, and Head Coach Durwood Roquemore were part of the team unveiling Thursday.
