HAMPTON, Va. — Nine people are displaced after an apartment fire in Hampton early Friday morning.
Hampton Fire and Rescue received a call for a fire in the 100 Block of Doolittle Road at the Langley Square Apartments around 2:30 a.m.
When crews arrived they saw heavy smoke and flames coming from the roof of the two-story apartment. Crews quickly evacuated the building and began fighting the fire, which was marked as under control within 30 minutes.
There were no injuries to fighterfighters or residents. The American Red Cross is currently assisting all occupants displaced by the fire.
The Community Risk Reduction Branch is investigating the origin and cause of the fire.
