HAMPTON, Va. — Eight people and two pets are displaced after a fire in the 3300 block of Candlewood Drive Saturday afternoon.
Fire crews responded to the call about 4 p.m., according to a Facebook post from Hampton Division of Fire and Rescue. Two adults, six children and two pets were affected by the fire, the division said. No injuries were reported, but firefighters did treat two pets with oxygen masks.
There is no word on what the cause of the fire is. Chief Deputy Fire Marshal Anthony Chittum said the residents are displaced and that the Red Cross is being asked to assist them.
