Family gives update on missing mom and baby

Chloe and Keir Johnson vanished from Hampton back in April.

HAMPTON, Va. (WVEC) -- The family of Chloe and Keir Johnson spoke to the media at Newport News Police Headquarters Tuesday morning to reach out to the public for help nearly seven months after the mother and daughter disappeared.

The mom and her 8-month-old baby vanished from Hampton back in April.

Detectives have scoured for clues since. Police found Johnson's car in Newport News weeks after the pair vanished.

The family has been desperate for answers since.

"She's my everything. Just imagine living in a world and you see trees but there's no more trees. There's no more grass. All I know is her. So, it's hard," said Teir Pettaway, Johnson's twin sister.

Police say they have been working with federal investigators on the case and that 5000 hours of investigation have been logged.

13News Now asked investigators if a recent arrest in the case of Ashanti Billie is connected to this case, but they couldn't answer. They sited the sensitive nature of important information during an active investigation.

"I would have never thought this would have affected me or my family, but it did," said Pettaway. "I'm pretty sure when Ashanti came to school, she would have never thought if she went to school, she'd come up missing. I just think we need to stop condoning the behavior, stop looking out for the bad people."
