HAMPTON, Va. — One person is dead and three others are injured following a head-on collision in Hampton Tuesday evening, authorities said.
In a social media post at 5:40 p.m., Hampton Police Division said officers were at the scene of the crash near the corner of West Queen Street and Salters Creek Road.
The initial investigation revealed that a driver, who has not been publicly identified, was heading west on Queen Street at 4:37 p.m. when police say they lost control and veered into the eastbound lanes, striking an oncoming vehicle.
Police said four people went to the hospital, with one woman, 41-year-old Twala Grant, succumbing to her injuries. The other three's injuries aren't considered life-threatening, according to police.
