HAMPTON, Va. — Several businesses and vehicles at Coliseum Crossing Shopping Center were damaged in a shooting in Hampton Monday night, police say.

Hampton police say they were dispatched to the Coliseum Crossing Shopping Center for a gunshot complaint around 8:30 p.m. When police arrived, they found two businesses and three vehicles that had been struck by gunfire.

Investigators think that the victims, a 17-year-old Newport News boy and an 18-year-old Hampton woman, saw a group of known people in the parking lot. The man approached the group and that's when shots were fired appearing to be toward the victim, police say.

Ross Dress for Less and Shoe Show Mega Store were struck, as well as the victims' vehicle and two other unoccupied vehicles.

Police say the victim is uncooperative with investigators.

The incident remains under investigation by the Hampton Police Major Crime Unit.
