Buckroe Coffee Company opens new Hampton location despite recent vandalism

On Sunday night around 8:10 p.m., police responded to a call reporting a business vandalism in the 1900 block of East Pembroke Avenue at Buckroe Coffee Company.

HAMPTON, Va. — Buckroe Coffee Shop is hosting its grand opening in Hampton on Tuesday despite a vandalism incident next door to it, the owner announced in a Facebook post.

The grand opening starts at 11 a.m. and ends at 1 p.m. There will be music, food, and of course coffee!

On Sunday night around 8:10 p.m., Hampton Police responded to a call reporting a business vandalism in the 1900 block of East Pembroke Avenue at Buckroe Coffee Company.

When they arrived, the windows to the storefront were busted out. The property is also owned by Buckroe Coffee Shop, but it is not part of Tuesday's grand opening. The owners plan to eventually turn it into their office space.

The owner estimates there is about $2,000 in damages to repair the windows. In the meantime, the owner has boarded up the windows.

According to the Hampton Police Division, officers initially detained an individual, but no arrests were made regarding the incident.

So this happened last night… I think I may be too kind? We’re still having the grand opening tomorrow from 11 to 1, windows or not! Hope to see you! Live music, food truck, coffee. You can park next door as soon as I get this glass cleaned up and some boards up. Back in the day we just shrug it off. “SNAFU” Google it 😉
