HAMPTON, Va. — Police say a man has died after he was hit by a vehicle in Hampton on Friday afternoon.
According to the Hampton Police Division, the man was on a bicycle when he was struck around 4:42 p.m. in the 200 block of West Mercury Boulevard.
The man was taken to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Police have not released his identity, pending notification of next-of-kin.
Police said the crash is under investigation, and that the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.
