Woman buys 6 winning lottery tickets at Chesapeake convenience store

The woman chose the same five numbers for all of her tickets. When they matched the winning numbers in exact order, each of her six tickets were worth $30K.

CHESAPEAKE, Va. — A woman in Chesapeake got a $180,000 pay out from the Virginia Lottery last month after buying six winning tickets.

Latoya Burke bought her tickets for the Pick 5 game at the Tinee Giant on Jackson Avenue, accoring to a Virginia Lottery release.

She chose the same five numbers for all of her tickets — 5-5-5-5-0 — and wagered 50/50. When her numbers matched the winning numbers in exact order, each of her six tickets were worth $30,000.

“I checked the numbers, and I was happy,” Burke told Lottery officials as she redeemed her winning tickets.

The chances of matching all five numbers in exact order for the Pick 5 game are 1 in 100,000.
