MIDDLESEX COUNTY, Va. — Virginia State Police are investigating a double deadly crash on Monday afternoon.

Around 3:54 p.m., VSP responded to a call reporting a two-vehicle on Route 33/General Puller Highway, east of Route 17/Gloucester Road.

According to police, an investigation revealed that the driver of a 2014 Kia Soul, 64-year-old Allan Wayne Cash, was driving eastbound on Route 33 when he crossed the centerline of the roadway hitting an oncoming vehicle, a 2017 Ford Transit van, head-on.

Cash's 90-year-old mother, Eleanor Heath, who was in the passenger seat, died on impact. Cash's wife, 50-year-old Donna Sue Cash, who was sitting in the rear passenger seat, was transported to Walter Reed Hospital where she later died from her injuries. The driver of the Ford Transit van, Sherry Rena Green-Henry, and an 11-year-old passenger were both transported to Walter Reed Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

VSP said neither alcohol nor speed were contributing factors in the crash.

Police said charges are pending further review from the Commonwealth Attorney's Office.
