CHESAPEAKE, Va. — One person is dead after a shooting in Chesapeake Friday morning.
Chesapeake police say that they received a report of a crash involving a pedestrian on Military Highway and Canal Drive around 5:40 a.m.
However, when officers arrived they found that the victim laying in the roadway had been shot and not struck by a vehicle. The victim was found near a vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police did not release any other details or suspect information.
