CHESAPEAKE, Va. — A police chase in Chesapeake ended with a woman getting taken into custody on Tuesday, police said.
Chesapeake police said an officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop around 12:16 p.m. on Military Highway near Micheal Drive because the license plates did not belong on the vehicle.
The driver, Crystal Jones, did not stop and police got involved in a vehicle pursuit. Police deployed spike strips and the vehicle stopped on Military Highway near the Gilmerton Bridge. A woman was taken into custody. The pursuit lasted 18 minutes.
Police say there were no injuries or property damage. The woman was taken to the hospital for unrelated medical issues.
Jones is charged with disregarding police command to stop, resisting arrest and two possession of a drug related charges.
