VBPD charges Chesapeake man with a felony after car theft

Officers with Virginia Beach Police Department conducted a felony traffic stop on a reported stolen vehicle, with assistance from State Police.

A Chesapeake man is charged for allegedly stealing a vehicle, according to the Virginia Bah Police Department (VBPD).

The Department's Real Time Crime Center was alerted to the stolen vehicle through FLOCK cameras, leading to officers finding the vehicle on Interstate 264.

Officers said they were able to follow the vehicle as it traveled westbound on I-264 until Virginia State Police (VSP) were able to help safely stop it and assist in conducting a felony traffic stop.

The driver, 25-year-old William Cepin was taken into custody without incident and is charged with felony unauthorized use of a vehicle.
