CHESAPEAKE, Va. — The Chesapeake Police Department is investigating reports of a man carrying a gun on Greenbrier Mall property on Saturday.
Authorities were alerted of a man "allegedly open carrying a firearm on the property," a spokesperson for CPD told 13News Now.
Officers responded to the mall located on Greenbrier Parkway and searched the area but did not locate the man. The police department said there is no evidence that shots were fired.
"Units checked the mall thoroughly as a precaution before clearing the scene after finding no further suspicious activity," a spokesperson said.
No other information was immediately released.
