Chesapeake house fire displaced two people from home

Chesapeake Fire Department says they received a call reporting a fire in the 4200 block of Taylor Road around 7:30 a.m. Crews arrived less than 5 minutes later.

CHESAPEAKE, Va. — Two people have been displaced after a house fire Friday morning in Chesapeake.

Chesapeake Fire Department says they received a call reporting a fire in the 4200 block of Taylor Road around 7:30 a.m. Chesapeake firefighters arrived within five minutes of the call and reported visible fire coming from the home.

Firefighters stretched hose lines inside and began search and extinguishment. Crews found the fire had extended into the attic.

Chesapeake crews along with auto-aid crews from Suffolk and Portsmouth brought the fire under control just before 8 a.m.

The residents evacuated before the fire department arrived.

The home sustained significant damage and can't be occupied. The residents made living arrangements.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
