CHESAPEAKE, Va. — Chesapeake police are investigating an overnight shooting that left one man hurt.
Police responded to a call of shots fired sometime after midnight on Friday to the 1100 block of Porter Street.
Officers investigated the area and talked to witnesses who told them they heard multiple gunshots.
Witnesses told police they saw three male juveniles run from the area where the gunshots were heard.
Less than an hour later, dispatch received a call from a local hospital about a gunshot victim walking into its emergency room.
A 26-year-old man was treated for injuries not considered life-threatening.
The shooting victim told investigators he was in the Grady Crescent area visiting a friend. That's near Porter Street.
While walking, the man said 3 unknown males approached him.
The man said he ran away and that's when he heard gunshots fired.
Police said the victim wasn't cooperating and that there are discrepancies in his story.
