CHESAPEAKE, Va. — A man has died after a shooting in Chesapeake late Monday night, police say.
Chesapeake police say that they responded to the area of Grady Crescent for a report of an armed person just before midnight.
When they arrived on scene officers found a man outside suffering from a gunshot wound after a shooting that took place at an apartment complex.
The victim, 40-year-old Martario Gee of Portsmouth, was taken to the hospital for medical treatment where he later succumbed to his injuries.
22-year-old Tia Johnson has been charged with first-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony in connection to the incident.
