CHESAPEAKE, Va. — Human remains were found in Chesapeake Sunday night, according to a press release from city police.
Around 2:47 p.m., officers responded to a report of human remains found at what they referred to as a "barge dumping area" at Seaward Marine.
Authorities said when they arrived, they found the remains were in advanced stages of decomposition.
Forensic personnel and police investigators are continuing to investigate this incident.
