CHESAPEAKE, Va. — A family is mourning the loss of a loved one after Chesapeake police said her vehicle went off the road and into a lake in the Edinburgh section of the city.
The accident was reported around 11:13 p.m. Tuesday near the intersection of Hillcrest Parkway and Edinburgh Parkway. The Chesapeake Police Underwater Search and Recovery Team was dispatched and found an adult woman inside the submerged vehicle. No one else was inside.
She has been identified as 21-year-old Kylie Dorsman of Chesapeake.
Dorsman was removed and taken to a local hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
