CHESAPEAKE, Va. — Chesapeake Fire Department received a call around 2:33pm Sunday afternoon after a citizen called 911 to report a fire in the 1200 block of Brinsmayd Arch.
Within 9 minutes engine 6 arrived and reported “smoke visible from the roof of the structure,” the Chesapeake Fire Department’s press release says.
The fire was brought under control around 3:17pm after hoselines were stretched to the attic.
The residents of the home were able to evacuate safely but are displaced due to “fire, smoke and water related damage,” according to the Chesapeake Fire Department.
No injuries were reported and the Red Cross is not needed. The residents are taking care of their own lodging arrangements.
