CHESAPEAKE, Va. — A fire damaged multiple businesses in Chesapeake's Greenbrier area late Monday afternoon.
A representative of one of the impacted businesses reported smoke coming from the building located on Executive Boulevard between Ventures Way and Professional Place shortly after 4:30 p.m.
Once at the scene, the Chesapeake Fire Department (CFD) began evacuating the nearby businesses as smoke was coming from the business' roof.
After alerting the businesses, fire crews searched the inside and confirmed no one was still inside.
Firefighters doused the blaze but not before it impacted four businesses. CFD said those businesses are closed indefinitely.
No civilians or firefighters were reported hurt.
Investigators are still working to determine what sparked the blaze.
