CHESAPEAKE, Va. — Police are investigating a double shooting that happened at a home's pool party on Friday, the Chesapeake Police Department said.
Chesapeake police responded to a call reporting a shooting at a party in the 1900 block of Flintshire Drive shortly after 9 p.m. When officers arrived they found a man and woman suffering from gunshot wounds. They were both transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
Authorities have not named any official suspects in connection to this investigation but when 13News Now sent a news crew to the scene, one woman said she was at the party and her husband had been detained.
"I have not been able to get back to my truck because they have him detained and he has the keys," the woman said.
She added that a bystander had mistakenly identified her husband to police as a security guard, but she said he was in fact a party promoter and was not involved in the shooting.
Chesapeake police are still investigating this incident. Anyone with information about the shooting can call the Crime Line at 1-888-562-5887. People can also use P3 Tips to submit a tip online.
