CHESAPEAKE, Va. — The Luke Bryan Farm Tour concert planned for Friday night in Chesapeake has been postponed.

According to city officials and a social media post by the Luke Bryan Farm Tour team, the concert has been moved to Sunday, due to muddy conditions at the field at Heritage Park, where the event was set to take place.

The site received a significant amount of rain this week, according to Heath Covey, the city's Director of Public Communications.

"We are sorry for the inconvenience but we want to keep y’all safe. See y’all out on the farm," the Luke Bryan Farm Tour team said on Facebook.

The concert on Sunday will still take place at 6 p.m., with gates opening at 5 p.m. and parking available starting at 2 p.m.

Several Chesapeake schools had adjusted classes for Friday and moved football games to accommodate the concert. A Chesapeake Public Schools Spokeswoman said Thursday that despite the date change for the concert, the impacted schools will still operate on the modified schedule on Friday, as planned.

The city had also announced a number of road closures ahead of the event. The city said traffic plans remain the same, as well.
